I thought about just writing, “In 6th grade careers class I said I wanted to be a photographer, and here we are!” and just leaving it at that… But I guess I can give you a bit more background info ;). I worked in education for about ten years. As a Special Education Teacher and eventually the Director of Special Education at a school in Milwaukee. During that time I would photograph my family and close friends here and there, but just for fun! It was always one of my favorite hobbies.

We decided to move from Milwaukee to central Illinois to raise our children close to family and this decision led me to quit my job as the Director of Special Education. In the moment I remember being so sad to leave. I LOVED what I did. I stayed home for about a year and quickly realized the stay at home life was not for me so I put some feelers out there for family sessions and they were gobbled right up! Since that moment I have been going full speed. Immersing myself into education, taking any and all opportunities that come my way, getting connected with photographers I have looked up to for years, building a studio, and diving back into my first love, film. I am SO thankful to be here today. Everything truly happens for a reason and I fully believe that I am exactly where I am meant to be.
